A Few Thoughts on the Haiku

If I was writing @HerbTate5‘s haiku, the third line would have most likely been “because of mosquitoes”, at least in the initial drafts. But it doesn’t lend the tone that this moment should have and the writer choosing to say barefoot dancing with mosquitoes makes all the difference.

Reading this reminded me of my mom shouting from somewhere in the house, almost every evening in summer and rainy seasons, asking anyone who could be in the living room if they have shut the front door to prevent mosquitoes from getting in after dusk.

Perspectives, and their expressions, like these always leave me thrilled. What more can I say?… If you are someone who sweats a lot, you’d be the fly’s private pool.
